Something I find annoying

I guess you could call it a pet peeve. I found lately that I really can't stand it when people are talking in class while the professor is lecturing. I'm sure what they have to say to their friend is so important that it cannot wait. In all seriousness, I want to know if these people think they cannot be heard? Oh, and the ones that continually do it after they have been asked to stop by the professor; I won't even go there.

Anyways, I haven't been on here in a while due to school. I am swamped with studying and doing homework and quizzes. I'm actually taking a quick break from my Accounting quizzes to blog. I will be getting back to that now, but expect updates coming up a lot this holiday season!

Also, if you read this please take advantage of the Follow feature on the right hand side. I don't see many people who have it, but it sure does make it easier for me to keep track of people's blogs.

My weekend, so far

Friday;
I promised a review of Twilight, so here it is. I have to give Twilight a 5/10. Why? Here are some pros/cons of the movie.
Pros: They did an OK job of compacting the whole book into 2hrs. The nature scenes were beautiful. Unfortunately that is about it. Oh, and it was actually pretty funny (even though it wasn't a comedy).
Cons: The actors were decent and the scripts were a little cheesy. There were a lot of awkward scenes, too.
I think Twilight would've had a better chance if they had went with a bigger production company and with some better actors. If you have read the book I would go and check it out, just for fun. If not, I wouldn't bother, you'll be pretty lost.
Beware though, the characters in the movie completely ruined how the characters were in the book. So now when I go to read the sequels I will be thinking of Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson. Great.

Saturday;
I know that it is still Saturday, but I just got back from the Texas Renaissance Festival. Got up at 8 (I dreaded that, seeing that we didn't get home till around 2 cause of Twilight) and met up with friends by 9:30, we didn't get there until about 11ish. The place was huge. I was really impressed with it for the most part. I would say the majority of the people there were in costume, and no, I was not. There were a lot of things there I wanted to buy but it was ridiculously expensive. I did not see one thing there that was at a decent price. Food, maps, clothing and entertainment were all very over priced. It is their fest so they can do that I guess. The jousting was decent and the performances were very funny. I would have to say that there are too many shops there. There had to have been at least 10 sword shops. Most carrying the same swords. Same with most of the other themes they had set up around the festival. The best part? That would have to be just being with my girlfriend and friends on a beautiful day. Oh and also the turkey leg! It was large, delicious and fulfilling. Next year I will know to bring a lot more cash so maybe I can actually buy something.

Well, it's time to work on some of that good ole' homework and take it easy for the night. After walking for a good 4-5hrs I am exhausted. Seth out.

Things to do today

It's not that much, it's just a matter of going and doing it on my day off.

  1. Economics online quizes ch33 & ch34
  2. Econ review
  3. Make corrections on my math test
  4. Mail stuff
  5. Register my car
  6. Apply at a University
  7. Go see Twilight
It's mainly the first three that will take the longest. The rest are either easy, or exciting. As much as I do want to see Twilight, I know the lines at the movies are going to be ridiculous. We already bought the tickets though, so that takes away about half the pain. I will have a movie/book comparison/review up later on tonight.

These past few days I have been working on a short story. Mostly doing all of the ground work and planning out of things. I have started the rough draft though! I am excited to finally start writing it, it's been in my head for awhile. Hopefully more poetry on the way, too!

Oh, might I add; The weather recently has been absolutely gorgeous. Sunny, chilly out, no wind or clouds. That's my kind of day. Today is a bit colder and it's really windy out. It's the wind that gets to me. Anyways, time for Economics.
Seth out.

Sonnet I

The sunset signals the end of the day,
Yet another journey behind us now.
Weather so lovely, I thought it was May.
Already November? I can see how.
But it is a secret I cannot tell.
Time does fly when you're having a blast.
Being in her presence is more than well.
One must stop in remembrance of the past,
realizing what you have is perfection.
This is the secret to love itself, so,
Don't take for granted all her compassion.
Not from the mind, but love, the heart does know.
Now that the secret is out, let me say,
We will live forever, in just a day.
